No one knows. This thing is still in production and I presume that the reason this trailer wasn't run during the Superbowl was that they didn't want to show the martians or hadn't finished sufficiently hiding them in some way. I found this HD clip and scaled it down. Maybe the martians are supposed to be invisible? That'd be pretty unsatisfying.
Actually, that looks a lot like the War of the Worlds trailer that I skipped through when watching the SupahBowl. I let my daughter play more Paper Mario until 7 or so and just had my DVR thingus queue up 'The Big Game'. It was a much more satisfying experience to have so much fast forwarding potential energy available.
I haven't read anything about this WoW, but it looks like a piece of 'Independence Day'-style blockbuster crap, at first glance. Something along the lines of a remake of Day the Earth Stood Still with Vin Diesel.
Ouch. But it's der Spielberg! He's been doing OK recently. My understanding is that E.T. makes his return in this one. That thing is starting to get old for him I bet, that and Poltergeist. I still think Close Encounters holds up.
Ouch. But it's der Spielberg!bah... when will Andrew Lloyd Weber be doing the broadway play?
My understanding is that E.T. makes his return in this one."Elllliiiioooottttt.... E.T. here to kick ass and chew Reeses' Pieces, and Reeses' wouldn't pony up for product placement."

So, are they stealing Manny's "truck", or is he just a neighborhood busibody?
